Emily Hotel in Achladi, Syros, originally operated in 1965.
It is a family business. The company was founded by Alexandros Bolias, who since 1948 has been living in the area as a fisherman. The area was a major leisure destination for himself and his family during the summer months. With the purchase of the land and the electrification of the area, he gradually built some rooms for the passing by tourists, then a small restaurant and finalized with the construction of the small hotel of 11 rooms. Mr. Alekos named his small hotel after his wife Emilia.
The operation was family-run, with the tavern serving fresh homemade fish and tourists enjoyed authentic hospitality and guided family tours. In 1995, with the death of the original owner, the business was transferred to the grandson. Today Alexander Bolias directs it.
